Multilingual North European Mammals Dictionary

MBdbfont : the Multilingual Dictionary display font

Download the MBdbfont

MBdbfont is a custom TrueType font which is used in this particular database implementation to enable correct text display in all of the supported languages. (This is because when this dictionary was first developed, Unicode was not available).

Windows 2k/XP users: right-click on the link above, and save the font (Save As) to the directory c:\Windows\Fonts\
The dictionaries should be displayed correctly once the font is available from that location. Depending on your system, you may have to install/deblock it (see below).
N.B.: Operation of this font under Windows 2k/XP is known to be unreliable: sometimes it works, sometimes it does not ...

Windows95/98 users: after downloading the font, you then also need to install it for use:
Do this by using the My Computer | Control Panel | Fonts | File | Install New Font command sequence from the Windows95/98 desktop. The MBdbfont (True Type) font will appear in the selector box after you pick the directory into which it was downloaded(this will vary, depending on how your browser is set up).
Select the MBdbfont (True Type) font by highlighting it, and then click OK to install.

Note : You do not have to configure your browser to use MBdbfont, because the database display pages are hard-coded to call it automatically, when required.

Enjoy!
